Frequently asked questions

We've done our best to cover all the frequently asked questions. If you're still stuck, feel free to email us at education@nzgbc.org.nz

Where can I find my courses?

Click My Courses in the top right corner of the site.
Or go to My Profile > Dashboard to view your enrolled courses and on-demand videos.

Why can't I see a course I have enrolled in?

If your course isn’t showing yet, it might be because we’re still waiting for the payment to come through on our end — this can take a little time to process.

It could also be that you haven’t confirmed you’re the attendee. If someone else registered or paid for you, they may have received the course details instead.

Please check your email for instructions after enrolling and follow the steps to confirm your attendance.

Can I pause and resume my course later?

Yes, you can easily come in and out of a course. However, if you’ve started an exam as part of your course, please avoid exiting or pausing, as exams have time limits. Don't worry - you'll see a timer when you begin an exam, so you’ll know exactly when it starts.

How long can I access a course?

You’ll have access to your course as long as it remains available in our system. For most self-paced courses, access is 1 year, but some courses may have set availability dates. Please check the course details for any specific time limitations.

What’s the difference between self-paced online and live online courses?

Self-paced online courses allow you to get started immediately and work through the material at your own pace. There are no live sessions, so you can complete it whenever suits you.

Live online courses involve scheduled sessions with instructors. You’ll receive Zoom links to join these sessions and participate in real-time discussions and activities.

Where can I find Zoom links to my course?

For most courses, the Zoom link is available under the My Courses tab on your learning dashboard.

For webinars, the process is a little different - the Zoom link will be emailed to you during the week leading up to the webinar.

If you haven’t received it, be sure to check your spam folder or get in touch with us!

Will I get a certificate after completing a course?

You’ll receive a completion certificate for self-paced online courses such as Homestar and Green Star Fundamentals.

For formal accreditations (courses that include an exam and have ongoing CPD requirements), your certificate will be available under your NZGBC Dashboard on the main NZGBC website.

We know it can be a bit confusing - but if you’re unsure, we’re always here to help!

Where can I see my CPD points?

Currently, CPD points are only displayed on your main NZGBC dashboard if you still need to earn more in order to renew. If you don’t see a running total, it usually means you’ve already met the required number of points for renewal.

We understand this can be confusing and are actively working on improving the system. Soon, you’ll be able to see a detailed breakdown of how many CPD points you’ve earned from each course, along with a running total at all times.

Thanks for your patience as we work to improve your experience!
